November 1, 2011 Amtrak expanded free wireless Internet access to 12 additional East Coast routes, including Northeast Regional service connecting Boston,New York and Washington, D.C., as well as New York-Albany-Buffalo and New York-Philadelphia-Harrisburg, Pa., routes "As a result, trains that carry nearly 60 percent of all Amtrak passengers now have Wi-Fi connections," according to Amtrak. The rail operator by year-end expects to cover 75 percent of all passengers after Wi-Fi rollouts to select California routes. |
